Hi, I’m Laura
I’m the owner, writer, and slightly obsessive equestrian product reviewr behind Everyday Equestrian. If you’ve ever stood in a muddy yard at 6pm wondering why your torch has died, why your horse has destroyed yet another stable toy, or why the “best reviewed” product online didn’t survive a single winter… you’re in the right place.
I created this site because I was tired of products not living up to claims and reviews that didn’t reflect real yard life. I wanted a place where horse owners could get honest, experience-led advice based on products that have actually been used, dropped, chewed, soaked, and tested in the chaos of everyday equestrian life.
My pony spent several weeks under veterinary care and it meant I was on the yard five to six times a day, administering treatment in all weather and pitch darkness. One torch in particular was brilliant for about four days and then it just wasn't. I felt like I'd been duped, scammed, conned, whatever you want to call it. So when things weren't so stressful with our pony I decided to set up this site, to share what I've learned from testing honestly, 7 different torches! I know what I love now, and I know what I feel happy recommending to others. I'm not in any brand deals, getting collaborations or gifted products, lord knows that would be great though!
My Approach
- Real testing: Every product is used in real yard conditions, mud, rain, dark nights, impatient ponies and all.
- No shortcuts: I don’t review anything I haven’t personally tried.
- Honest opinions: If something breaks, disappoints, or just isn’t worth the money, I’ll say so.
- Practical focus: I care about durability, usability, safety, and value, not Instagram hype - been there, been burned!

How I Test Products
My testing isn’t glamorous, and that’s the point. I use products exactly how real horse owners do:
- In the dark, with cold hands
- While juggling horses, dogs, gates and wheelbarrows
- In winter rain, summer dust, and everything in between
- With horses who love to chew, paw, and “test” things themselves
If something survives my yard, it’ll survive yours.
A Little More About Me
I’ve spent years owning horses and managing the everyday chaos that comes with them. I’m happiest in a sand arena, surrounded by the countryside, muddy boots, and the sound of horses munching hay.
When I’m not testing products or writing reviews, you’ll usually find me tweaking this website, fixing something my pony has broken, or trying to drink a cup of tea before it goes cold.
