It lathers easily, even on thick, winter‑weight tails, and you don’t need a huge amount to work it through the hair. The tea tree element is noticeable in a good way: it's refreshing, light and a genuinely lovely smell to work with.

Washing & Detangling

Overall I was pleased with how well it lifted dirt. Even on a muddy, slightly claggy tail, the shampoo broke through the grime with a little bit of scrubbing. Once rinsed, the hair felt a little squeaky so we used some of the 'Trot to tail' spray as well which makes detangling far easier. I found I could run my fingers through the hair before even reaching for a brush which is a good sign.

Skin Friendliness

Tea tree can be a bit strong in some products, but this formula feels gentle and refreshing, not overpowering. Arlo Pet have a really sincere ethos about putting pets at the heart of their product design. I can say sincerely from using this brand that they have absolutely put product design first in terms of being kind, gentle and simple to use. They've had past feedback about textures and smells and reworked products to improve them. But they have ALWAYS worked hard to be gentle and get the product right for the animal, every time.
